CalBank Partners TECHAiDE To Set Up Ultra Modern Computer Lab

The Managing Director of CalBank, Mr. Philip Owiredu on Thursday 29th September 2022 commissioned a 40-seater ultramodern computer laboratory for the SDA College Demonstration Basic Schools in Asokore, Korofidua in the Eastern Region. 

The facility is expected to impact over one thousand five hundred students of the Asokore community by streamlining their STEM education as well as building their digital skill capacity. TECHAiDE was the proud implementing partner appointed for the project.

In his welcome address, the headteacher of the school assured CalBank that his leadership and teaching staff will do everything possible to maintain the state of the educational laboratory. He also emphasized that he cannot wait to see improvements in their pupils’ discipline, examination results and is confident that together they will “see a transformation of the school in all fields of endeavour”. 

Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of CalBank, Mr. Philip Owiredu expressed the fact that ICT education today is a very key component in the education of children in school today. He also stated that as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility drive, CalBank was happy to be the sponsor of this project as they believe it is going to benefit a lot of children in Asokore.

In a brief statement, Mr. Kafui Prebbie, CEO of TECHAiDE, the project’s implementing partner, appealed to the leaders of the school and community to come up with creative ways to generate funds in order not to charge the benefiting students any fee whatsoever to use the educational laboratory. 

Present at the ceremony were heads of other neighboring schools, officials from the district education’s office, chiefs and other traditional leaders, religious heads, and members of the media fraternity.
