Accra, Ghana – Congratulations to TECHAiDE on being selected for Cohort 4 of the UNICEF StartUp Lab! After a rigorous assessment process and in-depth discussions about the business, TECHAiDE has earned a coveted spot in the 2024 cohort. Out of over 2000 applicants, TECHAiDE was chosen as one of the 25 startups to join this prestigious programme.
Launched in 2019, the UNICEF StartUp Lab is a six-month accelerator programme dedicated to supporting impactful startups and businesses that aim to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for children and young people. Led by UNICEF in Ghana, supported by KOICA, and implemented by MEST Africa, the programme integrates intense, hands-on business acceleration with comprehensive technical expertise and systems knowledge in the social sector.
UNICEF experts in Education, Health & Nutrition, Social Policy & Protection, WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene), and Child Protection lead the initiative, providing participants with individualised mentorship, access to a robust network of UN System partners, prototyping funding, and numerous other support mechanisms. This holistic approach ensures that startups are equipped with both the business acumen necessary for success and a deep understanding of the social issues impacting children.
TECHAiDE’s inclusion in the UNICEF StartUp Lab highlights its potential to create significant positive change for children and young people. As part of the Accra-based programme, TECHAiDE will work alongside other innovative Ghanaian startups to develop solutions addressing critical challenges affecting the well-being of children.
