The AU Innovating Education in Africa invited innovators to propose practical and sustainable education innovations that could be scaled and replicated across the continent. The initiative aimed to:

  • Incentivize innovators to identify major education and skills development challenges in Africa.
  • Source innovative ideas and solutions to address these challenges for adoption, replication, and scale-up.
  • Encourage partnerships involving education and training institutions, governments, and other key stakeholders.

Out of over 600 applications from across Africa, TECHAiDE was shortlisted among the final 10 participants to showcase their innovative solutions at this prestigious event. Over four intense days at the African Union headquarters, filled with presentations, networking, and a competitive pitch event, TECHAiDE secured a well-deserved bronze medal position!

This isn’t just a victory for TECHAiDE, it’s a triumph for Ghana! Out of hundreds of applications across Africa, we were shortlisted among the top 10 to participate in this prestigious event.

Our winning pitch? The one and only ASANKA Device – an offline learning management system designed to bridge the digital divide and reach even the most remote corners of Africa. (Learn more about the ASANKA Device at https://www.myasanka.com/)

The AUC IEA EdTech event was an incredibly insightful experience, providing us with the opportunity to network with like-minded individuals and thought leaders in the industry. We engaged with multinational organizations, representatives from UNICEF, UNESCO, Mastercard Foundation, GIZ, various ministries of education, EdTech startup co-founders, educational associations, and the media. These significant partnership talks promise further engagement and collaboration. The knowledge and connections gained are truly invaluable.

TECHAiDE’s success at this event highlights the potential of the ASANKA Device, an EdTech tool proudly developed in Ghana. The device addresses the critical need for accessible education by delivering digital content offline, ensuring that no student is left behind due to a lack of internet access.

We are proud of our achievement and look forward to continuing our mission to provide innovative educational solutions that make a real difference. This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the TECHAiDE team and our commitment to making quality education accessible to all.

Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to sharing more exciting updates with you soon!
