The Global EdTech Startups Awards (GESAwards) is the largest EdTech competition and community in the world. It is a joint venture involving partners from six continents, building a network of over 6000 EdTech startups from 130+ countries. Since its inception in 2014 by MindCET (Israel), in partnership with GSET-Ghana, GESAwards has consistently attracted newcomers, creating a dynamic global EdTech community.
The winners of the regional events become candidates for the final GESAwards event, held annually in London every January. Here, a select group of industry leaders choose the ultimate winners in front of hundreds of EdTech advocates. This year, the competition saw over 700 entries from innovative startups across Africa.
Hosted by the Ghana Society for Education Technology (GSET), the regional event marked a collaborative effort involving numerous EdTech clusters and partners across the continent. The competition was fierce, but after an intense and rigorous selection process, TECHAiDE, along with Angaza Elimu and Resolute Education, was chosen to represent Africa on the global stage.
Our pitch centered on the ASANKA Device, a groundbreaking Offline-Learning Management System designed to reach the unreachable. This innovative tool offers educational content in a user-friendly digital format without needing internet connectivity, making it a powerful solution for remote and underserved communities.
Yes, we also participated in the Bett events in London, which brought a new level of exposure and excitement. The Bett events provided an unparalleled opportunity to showcase our cutting-edge solutions, network with industry leaders, and expand our impact globally.
The GESAwards semi-finals and Bett events provided an excellent platform to network and collaborate with brilliant EdTech innovators worldwide. Hosted by MindCET EdTech Innovation Center in partnership with GSET, the events brought together diverse minds dedicated to revolutionizing education through technology.
Reflecting on our experience at these prestigious events, I am filled with excitement and anticipation. This global recognition not only validates our efforts but also motivates us to continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in education technology. We are eager to share our journey, learn from others, and explore new avenues for growth and collaboration.
This achievement would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our team, partners, and the vibrant EdTech community. We are grateful for your encouragement and belief in our mission to make quality education accessible to all.
